在2007年11月，Angelina遇到一场严重的车祸。她的车被坠落的屏障击中，她的整个右臂被击断至肩膀下面。因为惊吓过度，Angelina不觉得疼痛。尽管在现场作出了一切努力，切断的手臂仍无法被挽救回。Angelina在车祸的几天后才恢复意识。最初的幻像疼痛已经过去，但Angelina仍然可以明显感受到右臂的存在。她有一只义肢，但对她而言，那是障碍，而帮助不了什么。手臂残端本身太短，无法使用。从那个时刻开始，Angelina教导自己仅剩的一只手完成所有的事。特别是，用左手书写是一个挑战。在此期间，她已经习惯了别人的注视及当他们注意到那只残障的手时，问的同样问题。Angelina参与我们的摄影有两个主要目的，一是证明自己是有魅力的年轻人，即使她是残障人士，二来告诉大家一个很明显的：一只手的残障不会影响你成为一位专业模特。
